Jeffrey's SORDID past

To understand Jeffrey, you need to know where he came from. Let's talk about TWA, (Turtle With an Attitude). Jeffrey's father was always known as a free spirit. He traveled far and wide and has been rumored to have gotten into many tight situations. On a recent road trip to Leadville Colorado, he was accidentally accused of being involved with a holdup at the local bank. The sheriff caught up with him outside of the Silver Dollar Saloon.

TWA just looked down the barrel of the gun.

Now is this the face of A GUILTY TURTLE?

After a short stay in the Leadville jail he was brought before the 'Hangin judge', honorable Jim Beam. He had to be released however when all the eye witnesses described the robbers height as being between 5' 7" and 6'. TWA stood only 8 to 10 inches...even on his hind legs.

Lunchtime

It is a very dangerous time for baby turtles.

Anything that catches the adult turtles attention is a possible meal.

They usually react in the same pattern when examining food. Look, approach:>sniff...WHACK!! then bite.

RUN, LITTLE JEFFREY RUN!!

OPPs, to late.....at least for the goldfish. Heehee

One of the first things I noticed about Jeffrey was that he yawned a lot.
His eyelids didn't seem to open all the way.

And he had a sleepy look about him.
As a concerned parent I made note of this.

He was only a few weeks old at this time.

Finally the happy day was upon us.

Jeffrey's egg was pretty small.

Just a little larger than a dime.





     
Early in the afternoon of 10.13.03
a friend, Jeff Richards
was looking into my turtle terrarium
when he spotted something odd.
He dicovered an egg in the process of
breaking open.
In honor of his quick eye the baby turtle now had it's name.

Love was in the air

For Jeffrey, this is when it all began.

It was a warm spring day, April 5th 2003

Twelve weeks later Fred laid 6 perfect eggs.

The proud parents kept close watch over them.
